Should be illegal

They purchased our old propane company.....we had propane enough for a long time.....they came and put 158.00 in without permission.....then when we disagreed with their tactics they came and took the part needed to use the propane....propane we actually had paid for to the other company.....they gave us a smaller tank....charged us 4.99 per unit for their propane and paid us 1.27 for our propane.....charged us for getting a smaller tank 79.00 and we ended up owing them money.....if they charged us 4.99 for propane they should have to pay us 4.99 for our propane.....they are bullying and rude....we did without propane for 4 days....it was over a weekend.....very unsavory practices...

So true

Sounds suspicious to me, too. Go to your state's main website and look for the state agency that regulates fuel, energy, or something similar and find the one that regulates or polices these companies.

Then file a complaint against the company with the state agency. When a larger company buys out a smaller one as in your case, the new entity tends to do some strange and not to your benefit things.

Over priced and hidden fees........

I had my Tank with a local company for about 12 tears and apparently Koppys bought them out about 3 years ago. The prices were high along with oil so i didn't notice any hidden charges, thought they were just part of the high rates! But what ticked me off was twice they delivered propane without my request!! I only fill once a year!! So as of 9-11-15 I told them to come and get there tank that I am not paying for a tank rental do to not having a rental fee from the former company I was contracted thru!! I did not realize they were charging this!! I never signed a contract with this company!! I believe I purchased this tank at the time of signing on with former company!! I had all the lines ran by my stove provider and the pool company that placed a heater in and all the former propane company did was drop off and place the tank were I wanted it and came and filled it upon my request!! I have contacted the State Police in my area that they are not welcomed on my property unless I'm here and also the tank does not move till I'm reimbursed for the gallons that are in the tank at the price I paid!! I have all documentation of said purchase!! Also Tank rental is suppose-ably from 9-12 14 to 9-12-15 a 1 year rental, I stopped business as of 3 pm on 9-11-15. So thats on them to get here and pick up there tank!! Everything is Videoed and recorded on premises for proof of no damage to my property and to there tank!! Good Luck with getting this tank out of were it is!! Me and former provider carried said tank down to position it to were it is, due to it being over my septic system!! Have a nice day !! So done with this company......

BEWARE!!! Koppy's rapes customers with charges- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Had a rented tank from Koppy's. They were charging me outrageous fees per gallon because I was on small usage. Had them come get their tank because I felt that I could find propane cheaper by buying my own tank and getting it supplied by someone more reasonably priced. When they picked up my tank, it was full. They refused to reimbursement for the full amount of propane in the tank at the around $6/gallon price they were charging me. They also took my regulator (it belonged to me, it was on the house when I bought it) when they picked up the tank. They refused to return it back to me saying it was there's, however they didn't have paperwork stating that it was theirs. I told them I was entitled to reimbursement because I had paid for the propane in the tank. After arguing on the phone with the woman she refused to give back any reimbursement or MY regulator. They need to be stopped from raping the unknowing public. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! MAJOR RIPPOFFS!

Company delievered propane without our concent, refused to remove tank & took us to court for not pay

Koppy's propane delievered propane to our home without our knowledge...we did not want or use the fireplace in a while and did not request the propane because there is a problem with the fireplace. I called Glenda and explained the situation to her, she did nothing. Several month later I received a letter stating they were taking us to court for not paying for a product we never requested! (or never signed for auto delievery) I told her to remove the tanks and credit the unused portion. She told me she would then she would call me with my balance if I were to have one. Glenda never called me but rather went to file a civil lawsuit against us! I recommend you use another provider if you are looking for propane...Glenda can not follow though or do a simple task and she is the "office manager".

This company is a complete rip off. Driver never filled my tank as I looked out the window.

I just figured it was full as it’s only used for a range. When I got a bill for 20 plus dollars I called and canceled service and bought my own tanks. They came and picked up the tanks and charged me 60 plus dollars for pickup and othe BS.

Was never reimbursed for 2 full 100 tanks as there “fees” negated the gas in the tanks. Shady Shady Shady

I was suspecting them doing the same to us. I did get bills that do not add up and do not make sense from them. I gotta get rid of them.

My first time using Koppy's. we bought a place that already had their tanks installed.

Their records showed that we have two 100 gallon tanks. They billed us for 197 gallons.

On closer inspection of the tanks, the meters show that they're 80 gallons each AND that they put 75 gallons in each tank! They're trying to rip us off for 47 gallons of propane and this *** ain't cheap!
